Los Angeles, February 26, 2025 – LA Galaxy secured three crucial points after defeating Seattle Sounders 2-1 in a Major League Soccer (MLS) match at Dignity Health Sports Park on Monday night local time.

From the start, both teams played aggressively with intense exchanges of attacks. LA Galaxy took the lead in the 27th minute through a goal by Javier "Chicharito" Hernández after receiving a precise pass from Riqui Puig. Seattle Sounders quickly responded with a fast counterattack, eventually equalizing through a goal by Jordan Morris in the 41st minute.

Entering the second half, the match became even more intense. Both teams continued to press each other's defense. However, LA Galaxy regained the lead after Dejan Joveljić scored the winning goal in the 78th minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty box. Although Seattle Sounders tried to equalize, LA Galaxy's solid defense managed to hold off the pressure until the final whistle.

LA Galaxy coach Greg Vanney expressed his pride in the team's performance. "We showed character and resilience throughout the match. This is an important victory for us to stay in the top ranks of the standings," Vanney said in the post-match press conference.

Meanwhile, Seattle Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer acknowledged his team's mistakes. "We had several good chances, but lacked finishing. We need to be sharper in the next match," Schmetzer said.

With this victory, LA Galaxy moved up to third place in the Western Conference standings, while Seattle Sounders remain in fifth place. Both teams will be back in action this weekend, with Galaxy facing the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders meeting FC Dallas.

Will this victory mark the beginning of LA Galaxy's resurgence this season? Let's watch their next performances in the MLS!
